PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) has made a 28-year mark in the Indonesian mining industry. Since its establishment on April 28, 1997 through a Work Contract with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, NHM has managed the Gosowong Gold Mine in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province.In a written release received by cermat , NHM noted various proud achievements. Not only successful in terms of production, the company also made a significant contribution to the country, with total payment of obligations reaching USD 1.1 billion or around Rp18.34 trillion."NHM also made a major contribution to PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (Antam) through dividend distribution exceeding USD 300 million or equivalent to IDR 4.97 trillion. Overall, NHM's contribution to Indonesia for 28 years reached USD 1.4 billion or around IDR 23.31 trillion," said NHM Communications Supervisor, Glend Huliselan, Tuesday, April 29, 2025.NHM's journey began with an open pit operation at Gosowong in July 1999, which later expanded to underground mining. The methods used include a combination of cut & fill and stoping, to increase productivity.Currently, NHM manages a working area of 29,622 hectares. The company's ownership consists of PT Indotan Halmahera Bangkit (75%) and PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (25%)."In an effort to strengthen the operational future, NHM has succeeded in increasing reserves to 1.4 million ounces and resources to 2.3 million ounces, with an estimated value of Rp110-120 trillion," he said.This increase, he added, is expected to extend the operational life of the Gosowong Gold Mine for up to 10 years into the future, while also opening up opportunities for the discovery of new reserves that will strengthen the company's value.Despite facing challenges in recent times, NHM remains committed to recovering through measurable efficiency measures.
